Wafflix Owner Found Dead in Gulistan-e-Jauhar
A tragic incident has shocked Karachi after 25-year-old Mir Raza Ali, owner of the dessert chain Wafflix, was found dead following an alleged kidnapping.
Police recovered his body from bushes near Shadi Qila wedding hall in Gulistan-e-Jauhar Block 1 on Wednesday. The victim was a resident of PECHS Block 2 and owned a Wafflix outlet located near Bahadurabad Chowrangi.
His body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for a post-mortem examination.
What Happened?
According to the First Information Report (FIR) lodged by his father, Mir Raza Ali returned home from his shop during the night between July 27 and July 28.
At around 4:00 a.m., he informed his mother that he was stepping outside for approximately 10 minutes. However, he never returned.
When family members attempted to contact him, his mobile phone was switched off. After searching for him and contacting Madadgar 15, the family registered a kidnapping case against unidentified suspects at Ferozabad Police Station.
Police Investigation
Investigators stated that the body appeared to have been lying at the recovery site for one to two days.
Police said:
- Burn marks on parts of the body made identification difficult.
- The victim was identified by his father through his clothing.
- A mark was also observed on his back.
- The exact cause of death will only be confirmed after the post-mortem report.
Initial police findings suggest the victim may have been tortured before being shot, but authorities stressed that this has not yet been confirmed and remains subject to forensic examination.
CCTV Footage Being Examined
Station House Officer (SHO) Kamran Qureshi said investigators are collecting CCTV footage from cameras installed around the area where the body was discovered.
The footage will be examined to help identify those responsible for the alleged kidnapping and murder.
At the time of reporting, no arrests had been announced, and the investigation remains ongoing.

Police are continuing their investigation into the alleged kidnapping and killing of Mir Raza Ali. Officials have said further details will depend on forensic evidence, CCTV analysis, and the post-mortem findings.
