Tipster Smart Pikachu shared on Weibo that Samsung is testing a 200MP main camera with variable aperture for the Galaxy S27 Ultra.
Variable aperture enables the camera to physically adjust the lens opening based on lighting conditions. This allows for improved results in both bright environments and low-light scenarios.
Return of an Older Samsung Feature
Samsung previously introduced variable aperture technology in the Galaxy S10 series. If the report is accurate, the Galaxy S27 Ultra would bring back this older feature.
Possible Camera Setup Change
Recent reports also indicate that the Galaxy S27 Ultra may shift to a triple rear camera setup. That change could mean Samsung might remove the 3x telephoto camera, which has been a regular part of Ultra models in recent years.
